An Autobiography of Our Collection Exhibition
Vancouver Art Gallery
2011 - 2012
Co-curated An Autobiography of Our Collection in collaboration with Ian Thom, former senior curator at the Vancouver Art Gallery as an independent curator. With more than 80 artists on view from Emily Carr to Shirin Neshat and Andy Warhol to Brian Jungen, this exhibition through a selection of artworks and a significant range of interpretive tools considered how objects in a museums’ collection narrate an institution's history, identity and aspirations. It explored how collections are always in flux and under revision. It included the voices of collectors, museums staff and visitors who have shaped the narrative of the museums over the past 80 years.
